When do I have my first mammogram?
Mammograms are recommended annually beginning at age forty, unless
there is an underlying history which dictates an earlier exam. The
treatment centers we recommend are listed on the link titled: Mammogram
Form.
My prescription has run out. What should I do?
If you need a re-fill on a prescription, please call the office. We
make every effort to accommodate your prescription request the day
you call.
What constitutes Abnormal Bleeding?
A normal menstrual cycle is generally 22-40 days apart and lasts anywhere
from 1-9 days. It is quite common as you approach menopause to experience
abnormal bleeding. However, because there are other causes we recommend
you be evaluated. Although the bleeding amount and volume varies from
woman to woman these are the following guidelines that define abnormal
bleeding:
*bleeding closer then 20 days (starting from day 1 to day 1)
*bleeding >= 10 days
*soiling your clothes or bed continuously
*changing pads or tampons more than one/hour
Abnormal bleeding can frequently be treated by a minor out-patient
procedure called Novasure.

I am taking a birth-control pill. How do I know if I have abnormal
bleeding?
If you are younger than 40 years old and first starting the Pill,
it is normal to experience irregular spotting within the first few
months. It is more a nuisance then an alarm. We recommend you take
the Pill at the same time every day. If you are experiencing heavy
bleeding, or persistent irregular bleeding for three cycles, you need
to call for an appointment to be evaluated.
What type of Birth Control is right for me?

can seem confusing. A great place to start learning about the effective
methods of birth control is www.acog.org. Come by our new office or call
